Welcome to the Manchester Hub of the British Cello Society. We are here to promote and expand the knowledge and love of our wonderful instrument across all ages and standards for those living in our region. Heather Bills
Born in South Australia, Heather came to the UK on a scholarship to take up studies at the Royal College of Music, studying with Christopher Bunting and Amaryllis Fleming. She was Co-principal Cellist of the Hallé Orchestra in Manchester from from 1983-1990 and a founder member of the chamber group, Ensemble Cymru. Since 2011 she has co-directed the Pleyel Ensemble with pianist husband Harvey Davies whilst continuing to freelance and teach at all levels.
