Performance Description:

Albert Ketelbey's 'The Phantom Melody' was the winner of a competition in 1912 for a work to complement van Biene's popular 'The Broken Melody,' and the Edison Bell company asked the 'cellist to record it. The recording was made just a short time before van Biene's death in January 1913
